Anxiety Is Not Who You Are It’s Energy Asking to Be Released

Understanding the Energy of Anxiety and How to Move Through It

Over the years — both in my corporate career and now in my healing work — I’ve noticed something about anxiety.

Many of us have been taught to push through it.

Push through the pressure.

Push through the tight chest.

Push through the racing thoughts.

For high achievers, especially, pushing through often feels like the only option.

But what if anxiety isn’t something you need to conquer?

What if it’s actually your body trying to release something?

I’ve seen this time and again with clients. What we label as anxiety is often stored energy from past experiences — stress, trauma, unresolved emotions, or even generational patterns — moving through the nervous system.

In other words:

Anxiety is not who you are.

It’s energy asking to be acknowledged and released.

When the Body Speaks

Our nervous system is incredibly intelligent.

When experiences happen faster than we can process them — whether it’s childhood stress, major life transitions, relationship wounds, or years of high pressure — the body stores that energy.

Over time, it may show up as:

• racing thoughts

• tightness in the chest

• restlessness

• difficulty relaxing

• feeling “on edge” even when nothing is wrong

From an energetic perspective, this is simply energy trying to move.

Your system is asking for attention, not suppression.

The Moment We Misunderstand Anxiety

One of the biggest misunderstandings around anxiety is the belief that something is wrong with us.

So we try to control it.

We override it.

We distract ourselves.

We push harder.

But often the most powerful shift happens when we do something unexpected:

We pause.

Instead of resisting the sensation, we allow the body to process it.

This is where healing begins.

Letting the Energy Move

One of the books that beautifully explains this concept is Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender by David R. Hawkins.

In the book, Hawkins describes how many of the emotions we experience — fear, anxiety, anger, grief — are actually stored energy in the body that simply wants to be released. Instead of suppressing these feelings or analyzing them endlessly, he teaches the practice of allowing them to move through us.

When we stop resisting the feeling and simply allow it to be present, the energy begins to dissolve on its own.

This is a powerful shift.

Instead of fighting anxiety, fixing it, or judging ourselves for feeling it, we can gently say:

“This is energy moving through my system. I can allow it.”

Often the moment we stop resisting is the moment the nervous system begins to settle.

Three Tools to Use When Anxiety Appears

These are practices I often guide clients through when the nervous system is activated.

1. Ground the Body

Anxiety pulls us into the future.

Grounding brings us back to the present moment.

Try this:

• Place your feet flat on the floor

• Take a slow inhale through the nose

• Exhale slowly through the mouth

• Imagine a cord of energy extending from the base of your spine into the earth

Let gravity pull the excess energy down and out of your system.

Even 60 seconds can begin to reset the nervous system.

2. Let the Energy Move

Anxiety often builds when energy becomes stuck in the body.

Gentle movement can help release it.

Try:

• shaking out your hands and arms

• stretching the spine

• walking outside for a few minutes

• slow conscious breathing

In Kundalini Yoga, movement combined with breath is one of the most powerful ways to release stored emotional energy from the nervous system.

3. Name What You Feel

Sometimes anxiety is simply unprocessed emotion.

Ask yourself:

What is my body trying to tell me right now?

You might notice:

• fear

• grief

• pressure

• exhaustion

• uncertainty

Naming the feeling allows the nervous system to process it rather than hold it.

The Deeper Work

While tools in the moment are incredibly helpful, lasting shifts often come from addressing the deeper layers.

In my sessions with clients, we often explore the energetic roots behind anxiety, including:

• childhood conditioning

• emotional trauma stored in the body

• subconscious belief patterns

• generational energy

• past experiences that were never fully processed

Through energy healing, intuitive guidance, and nervous system regulation practices, the body can finally release what it has been holding for years.

And when that happens, something powerful occurs.

Clients often say:

“I finally feel like myself again.”

Because underneath the anxiety…

your natural state is calm, clarity, and balance.

A Gentle Reminder

If anxiety has been part of your experience, please know this:

There is nothing wrong with you.

Your body has simply been carrying more than it was meant to hold.

Healing is not about forcing yourself to be stronger.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down, listen, and allow the energy to move.

Your nervous system knows how to return to balance.

It simply needs space.

If You’re Ready to Go Deeper

In my Sacred Soul Sessions and Soul Alignment work, we gently work with the body and energy field to release stored patterns and restore a sense of inner stability and clarity.

These sessions combine intuitive guidance, energy healing, grounding practices, and meditation to help your system reset.
