As we continue our journey through the chakras, this week we rise into the third energy center—the Solar Plexus Chakra, known in Sanskrit as Manipura, meaning “lustrous gem.”
Located just above the navel, the Manipura Chakra governs your personal power, will, and self-worth. It is the energetic fire that fuels your confidence, clarity, and ability to take decisive, aligned action in your life.
When this chakra is balanced, you feel empowered from within—not because of external validation, but because you know who you are. You trust your intuition, make decisions with ease, and live in alignment with your purpose. But when it’s blocked or out of balance, you may feel stuck in self-doubt, fear of failure, or even anger and control patterns.
For many years, I gave away my power—whether through overgiving, shrinking myself to stay comfortable, or holding back my truth. Reconnecting to my Manipura center helped me reclaim that energy, and it’s a process I now guide my clients through every day.

Why the Solar Plexus Matters
The Solar Plexus is your internal sun—radiating warmth, vitality, and direction. It’s the center of transformation where your ideas and emotions crystallize into action. When you’re aligned here, you’re unstoppable in the most grounded, authentic way.
Signs of a Balanced Manipura Chakra:
Strong self-esteem and clear boundaries
Motivation and inner drive
Decisiveness and confidence
Digestive health and vitality
Signs of Imbalance:
Low energy or lack of direction
Indigestion or adrenal fatigue
People-pleasing, overthinking, or anger
Difficulty setting or maintaining boundaries
Solar Plexus Meditation: Activate Your Inner Light
Try this short daily meditation to connect with your power center:
Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes.
Place your hands over your Solar Plexus (just above the navel).
Inhale deeply through your nose, and as you exhale, visualize a golden sun expanding at your core.
With each breath, see this light grow brighter and stronger.
Repeat silently or out loud:
“I trust myself. I take empowered action. I am strong and radiant.”
Continue for 3–5 minutes, letting your breath stoke the fire within.
Kundalini Kriya: Breath of Fire
This foundational breathwork technique is one of the most powerful tools for clearing blocks and activating Manipura. It strengthens the nervous system, increases oxygen flow, and awakens your internal fire.
How to Practice Breath of Fire:
Sit tall in Easy Pose, hands resting on your knees.
Begin short, rhythmic breaths through the nose. Focus on equal inhale and exhale.
Pump the navel with each breath (inhale as the belly expands, exhale as it contracts).
Keep a steady pace—about 2–3 breaths per second.
Continue for 1–3 minutes.
To finish: Inhale deeply, hold the breath for a few seconds, then exhale and relax.
If you’re new to Breath of Fire, start slowly and skip if pregnant or menstruating.
This kriya clears mental fog, boosts vitality, and reconnects you to the source of your energy and motivation.
