The Principle of Correspondence: As Above, So Below

Updated: Oct 6

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been exploring the timeless wisdom of The Kybalion and the Seven Hermetic Principles — ancient teachings that remind us how energy, mind, and matter are deeply interconnected. This week, we move into the Principle of Correspondence, which reveals a universal pattern woven through all layers of existence.

You’ve likely heard the phrase “As above, so below; as within, so without.”

This simple yet profound statement is the essence of the law. It tells us that what happens in one plane of reality — the spiritual, mental, or physical — is reflected in the others. The microcosm mirrors the macrocosm; the universe is a reflection of your inner world.

In my healing sessions, I see this play out often. When a client shifts an old belief or clears an emotional block, the change doesn’t just happen in their mind — it ripples into their body, their relationships, and even their outer circumstances. The inner and outer are never separate; they are part of the same energetic equation.

This principle also applies to the collective. The patterns we see in the world often reflect what humanity is working through on an inner level — fear, expansion, awakening, transformation. When we heal individually, we contribute to the healing of the whole.

Kundalini Practice: Kriya for Inner Balance and Radiance

A beautiful way to align with this principle is through the Kundalini Kriya for Balancing the Inner and Outer Worlds (also known as Kriya for Radiant Energy Flow).

This practice balances the hemispheres of the brain and harmonizes your inner energy so what you project outward becomes magnetic and clear.

How to Practice:

  1. Sit tall in easy pose, spine straight, eyes gently closed.

  2. Place your hands in Gyan Mudra (thumb and index finger touching).

  3. Begin Alternate Nostril Breathing (Nadi Shodhana) — inhale through the left nostril, exhale through the right; inhale through the right, exhale through the left.

  4. Continue for 3–7 minutes, focusing on the breath as a bridge between your inner and outer worlds.

  5. End with a deep inhale, hold the breath, visualize radiant light expanding from your heart through your aura, and exhale completely.

This breathwork recalibrates the nervous system, restores balance, and helps you magnetize experiences that reflect your highest vibration.

Reflection Prompt:

Spend a few moments today asking yourself:

“What does my outer world reveal about my inner energy?”

“What vibration do I choose to project moving forward?”

Let the answers rise from your heart, not your mind.

If you want to work with this principle consciously, start by observing your reflections.

  • What in your outer world mirrors your inner beliefs or emotions?

  • Where do you notice synchronicities or repeating patterns?

  • How might a shift in your inner dialogue create harmony in your external life?

When I work with clients on timeline clearing and releasing mental pictures, this law becomes a guiding thread. We travel inward to discover the original energetic imprint — and by transforming it within, their outer reality naturally begins to realign. Healing always begins on the inside.

Much love,

Laura
